Vaccinations
We happily accept titre testing as proof of immunity.
Mandatory Vaccinations: General Maladie vaccinations (Maladie Carré, Adenovirus/Canine hepatitis, Parvovirus and Parainfluenza; often listed as DHPPi, SHA2PPi or CHPPI on the vaccine sticker) must have been administered within the 3 years prior to arrival. Previously the official guidance was that these vaccinations should be administered annually, however the latest Swiss and International guidelines on vaccinations is every three years.

Other vaccinations: We do not mandate the Kennel Cough nasal vaccine. Some dogs; particularly those with underlying medical issues, those that are older or younger, get stressed away from home or those not used to mixing with other dogs, are more at risk to develop the Kennel Cough illness in boarding facilities where they are in close proximity with lots of other dogs. Vaccinated dogs tend to get a milder bout and recover quicker, but it is important to know that the vaccine is not always effective because there are so many strains of the virus.
If you decide to vaccinate your dog against Kennel Cough (as many owners do), please be aware that the kennel cough virus is highly contagious and the bortedella part of the nasal vaccine is live for some weeks after administration so we absolutely CANNOT accept dogs who have had the kennel cough vaccination administered less than 1 month before arrival. This rule is to protect all the dogs we look after. Your vet may say that it's fine to come here 3-5 days after the KC vaccine - we respectfully disagree and we will regretfully refuse entry to freshly vaccinated dogs. Don't hesitate to call us if you have concerns or questions about vaccinations.
Please also consider protecting your dog from worms/fleas/ticks - we are surrounded by forest and ticks particularly are prolific. Dogs are checked frequently but prevention is the safest option. We do not routinely treat our own 3 dogs using chemicals and would be happy to share our natural preventative regime on request. Please note, we are not veterinary professionals, this is purely our own personal preference.
