PLEASE NOTE WE ARE FULLY BOOKED FOR CHRISTMAS 2024.
NEXT AVAILABILITY FOR NEW CLIENT VISITS AND TRIAL OVERNIGHTS IS FEBRUARY 2025.
Welcome to Happy Dogs Aigle, a boarding and daycare centre 5 minutes above Aigle village (10 minutes from the motorway) in the heart of the Swiss countryside. Surrounded by forest and mountains in a beautiful, peaceful setting, our farm has been renovated to offer state of the art holiday boarding for dogs.
The concept of Happy Dogs Aigle is more like membership of a club than a typical kennel service provider. We deliberately serve a small number of clients whose dogs come to stay with us very frequently. We try to keep space available for an extra dog, even at peak times, in order to accommodate last minute requests from our regulars, but we specifically choose not to board dogs who need only occasional care. In fact, we would rather have an empty room than take a new dog last minute. We invest heavily in hand picking and truly getting to know the dogs who stay with us, and we appreciate that their owners invest equally heavily in us, both financially and in terms of trust.

Our promise is simple and genuine - we will look after your dog as if they are one of our own. That means lots of walks, fun and belly rubs, homely accommodation with plenty of family contact, stimulation, exercise and quality quiet time. Our goal is that every dog feels safe, secure and happy staying with us.
Happy Dogs Aigle is owned and operated by Aileen Woulfe, an Irish expat living in Switzerland with husband Ronan since 2004. Originally a nurse, later a sales and marketing career girl who swapped business suits for wellington boots, lifelong animal lover and now Swiss qualified with a diplôme cynologique in breeding, grooming and kennel management.

We have two very friendly adopted dogs, Perro (9 years) and Zuma (4 years), an enormous fully enclosed garden, individual, underfloor heated "home style" sleeping rooms and the dogs that stay with us are out and about with us all day. We also cater for dogs needing daycare. The only pre-requisite is that the dogs get on well together (and male adult dogs must be castrated) so please call to make an appointment to visit any day at your convenience (except Sunday).
One of the reasons we set up Happy Dogs Aigle was for dogs like ours. Over the years in Switzerland, we found it really difficult to find a boarding facility we liked. The solution we were happiest with was home care (where our dogs stayed in the minder's house). Our constant issue, however, was the lack of availability. We both travelled a lot, for work and leisure, so this was a major problem. So, having struggled to find a solution for our dogs, we decided to set something up for people like us! Our goal is to offer the best of both worlds - the personal touch found in home care, combined with higher capacity of a small professional facility.
Every dog differs regarding physical exercise, mental stimulation, playtime, sleep & human contact. With an average capacity of 12 dogs we can focus on the individual needs of each dog that stays. We know we cannot replicate home for your dog, but our promise is to treat each dog individually, to make them feel as comfortable as they can be away from home, in a place where they feel safe and cared for in your absence.
